Help picking a digital camera !!
thought some of you folks that are camera nuts could steer me in the right direction . Just looking for a nice point and shoot camera to take pics out on the fishing boat and other things. Don't need any zoom lenses or macro...just a camera that I can use easily and be able to post pics on the forums . Thanks. Just give me some pros and cons and I will see what camera fits the wallet...

I've got a Nikkon D31 with lenses for big stuff but my point and shoot for everyday stuff like that is my iPhone 5. It's always with me and the 8mp lens works great, especially outdoors. I'd use a lifeproof case if I were bringing it near the water though.
Plus it's easy for posting to forums and ebay with the apps right on the phone.
Of recommend looking into a smart phone with a decent camera if you don't already have one. They've come along so much that typical point and shoot cameras are becoming less and less practical.

Depends on how much control of the camera you are looking for. I just picked up Canon Power shot, 16mp camera for walking around with and point and shoot. It was $229.00 but I picked it up on sale for $129.00. Easy to use, fits in the pocket.

but for closeups of your razors, how about the Nikon d3200? the d3300 is coming out in April 2014, so there might even be a price drop.
Probably not enough to buy a macro lens with tho...

I'm a big Canon fan, and have had 3 of their PowerShot models over the years. I don't think you can go wrong with them.

I have a Canon rebel T4i, it's a good SLR that is compatabile with any Canon lens. It's entry level but has the performance and creature comforts of a pro camera. It comes with a pretty good lens to start which is always nice. There are aloof of good choices out there depending on what you are looking for,but this is the one I chose to spend my money on. Not to mention it has incredible video quality too
Couple pluses is it is awesome quality results, easy to use, any one can get pro pics + compatibility with awesome pro gear....
The only draw back is as most are most SLR cameras the are not exactly compact.... at all.... like not remotely small, in fact kind of big..... and bulky- but the pics are like your there!Last edited by JoeLowett; 01-21-2014 at 03:22 AM.
