Breakfast whose preparation started last night and whose consumption took place a little over an hour ago.

Rolled oats soaked in water overnight then had oat bran, strawberries, blueberries and mango yoghurt added in. Yes Ed, I know I didn't wipe the edges of the bowl clean for the photograph, but my patience with presentation is directly proportional to my level of hunger.

That would be yumbles in my tumbles in about 5 seconds flat.
Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

While costing relatively the same, I can do a lot more with honey than real maple syrup and honey is delicious any ol' way.

No. Them oats is just soaked overnight. No cooking. Makes for a fine creamy texture and great on a warm morning (Or cold, as it has been here). If they were hot it would be porridge...Well Hot porridge instead of cod porridge. Give it a try sometime Steph. Look, I even have Ed doing science for breakfast, in working out the tomato sauce with the best flavour, colour and taste...

I am intrigued....could you possibly show a picture of the oats in question before soaking.I would like to see what kind you use i.e rolled or steelecut ? or full on groats ?
