Well I was going to have some 'roo streak today because it's Australia Day here and what could be more Australian than eating an animal from the Australian coat of arms. Sadly it being a Public holiday and me getting rained in on the farm. I had no time to get any 'roo steaks from the local butchers and I'm not allowed to 'acquire' any from the mob of them on the farm. Lucky buggers they are too. They were well within range! Because the old man wants them to be left alone. So I dipped out all around today. I might have to make up for it soon though.

I got a chuckle thinking about our different climates. I have never heard the term rained in. We get snowed in once in a while.

It is predicaments like yours that make me want to have my freezer full! I can't eat today because I am going to have a procedure done or I would have some roo meat to celebrate with you. I am going to get away from these food threads.

Hey Mick, is that 'roo any good. What can it be compared too?

Yep, it's lean and higher protein than beef. I wouldn't know that it could be compared to anything other than itself. I like it. It's a stronger flavour and it sits well with me, as I like strong flavours. Some not used to wild meats might not go for it though.

Yeah, I like it too, though it is easily dried out due to the lack of fat.
Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

I hear it tastes a lot like eagle.

This morning was a bore; steak, baked beans, onions and an egg. Coffee.
