    A great ride it is too. Was my main travel route when I was traveling between Portland and Chicago. Always coach till I got old enough to want some privacy and sleep on the trip and switched to sleeper car. Chance to isolate oneself for any period of time you wanted. Could have meals brought to you. What always amazed me was how the maître 'de in the dining car always knew your name (sleeper car cost includes meals) and would sit you with interesting people to talk to while eating.

    My wife and daughter are in the process at this moment booking a train trip from St Paul MN to Atlantic City. A little trouble at the Jersey end with something about a bus. Neither of them has done a train trip.

    I remember watching a show about this train traveling to several National Parks out West.
