If it is only a few seconds in cooking not that big of a deal but if I wanted room temperature eggs I would take them out before I went to bed. Or buy unwashed eggs and don't refrigerated them to begin with.

Back in 1985 when my company opened a new and bigger grocery store I was transferred to it.

At that time eggs weren't stored in a cooler, they were left out at room temp. However as government concerns of salmonella grew eggs were then stored under refrigeration and are to this day.

As to finding 'Unwashed' eggs goes 100% of ALL EGGS sold in commercial stores are not only washed, but in water that has bleach in it. It doesn't matter if they are white, brown, organic, open range etc.

With all this said--how I would love to once again walk out to the chicken coop, run my hand under a hen and then take an egg in and cook it.

OH! By the way------in days gone by it was Impossible to contract salmonella from eggs-------only from the flesh of the chickens-----however it mutated so that it can be found in eggs however I believe that it's something like 1 on 20,000 eggs.

This discussion could open a case of eggs....

There are many ways to store and preserve eggs. refrigeration and washing is relatively new.

My wife is looking into salted eggs.

I have thought about Water Glass.

Here's a picture of softboiled eggs I posted to this thread a couple of years ago.

Quick and easy breakfast to get the day going this morning.

French toast with a sunny side up egg and Lyle's Golden Syrup for the toast

    Early morning breakfast.
I took advantage for the "Fall back" to have an extra hour to myself this morning.
    Happy Sunday everyone.
