That's a good looking pizza burglar you have there.
Had to put the lodge to the test. Didn't do my usual round of seasoning, just slapped a slick coat of vegetable oil in the pan and set it in the over to preheat. Making a pizza inside a 500 degree iron pan that weighs nearly #30 empty might actually be scarier than putting a naked razor blade to your throat to shave...I've never cooked pizza that hot, but apparently the hotter the better and I've seen places cook them in 2 minutes flat at 800 degrees. Crazy. only takes 12 at 500, dang near burned it cause I wasn't anticipating that.

Fighting the pizza out of that monster was a bit of a chore. It came loose without a hitch, but maneuvering the monster-pan with my left hand while trying to scrape the pizza out with a butcher knife was an interesting juggling act to say the least. I was legitimately expecting to be scraping something out of there, but what little was left in the pan more or less wiped out with a paper towel. Color me surprised.
I've got it in the oven to get a proper seasoning right now while the pizza cools. No burns, no huge mess to clean out of the pan. I'd say it's been a good night.
Dang craving pizza again......looks mighty fine
Pizza looks good!
However 'Scraping it out with a butcher knife'?
While 'I'd' modify it a bit, something like this would be of benefit to you while using a fry pan for baking pizzas:

I made one small mistake - forgot the garlic, basil, and oregano I usually mix into the dough in my rush to play with the pan. So I guess it's less a pizza and more of a bread casserole disguised as a pizza?
Eh, I'll get it right next time. Still tasted pretty good.
I actually cleaned off my spatula for it, but decided the blade was a bit wider than I'd like. I wanted something more slender to slip between the pan and the pizza. The knife cooperated fine, the pan wanted to rassle! Guess I need to start doing more push ups and fewer 12 oz curls.
