    Default Pickled beets

My Amish grandmother who was my best friend passed in the 50's. She used to do a lot of canning and one thing I loved was her pickled beets. In her honor I dug out some of her old jars that I stored in the 50's ( they are antiques, some square, some with porcelain lids, some with glass lids, none of which can be found today) I used the jars but not the lids for fear of damaging them. They wont taste as good as hers but they will be good I hope. I made one jar with both hard eggs and beets just like she did.

Fantastic, nothing better than hard cooked (peeled) eggs in pickled beets.
