If you're at a diner in the 'States, that would be "over hard". But since most places over cook, you might want to stick with "over medium"

So, what do you guys put on your egg in hole?

    Ketchup? Tabasco?

People in WI put ketchup on everything. While I'm not so radical about the stuff to go beyond eggs and fries, some people call me a heretic for putting it on eggs.

What do you do with your toast then? I use mine to soak up the runny yolk!

I like ketchup and tobasco in their place but with the butter toast and egg of the egg in a hole all I use is a little salt and pepper.

Why would you want to cover up such a good thing with a sauce or extreme spices?

Tom, are you channeling my deceased brother? He put ketchup on everything, especially eggs in any form. Ketchup is one condiment I use lightly, but I do like a good siracha on beef and foul.

Something i have figured out about toast . Instead of taking hot toast and covering it in butter and then eating the soggy toast. Let the toast cool before applying butter , that way the butter stays on top and it just seems rite.
Hence in the olden days they had toast racks. Toast was made and then left to cool in the rack on the table.
God,, people please let us be civilised
