Thanked: 983Well Mr Marsh, it won't be any good for cleaning teeth with though you can try and it will be tasty, nor will it get into a piece of chalk, but it sure will put the lead in your pencil, sadly, it leaves it to you to find something to scribble on... I expect most of the double meanings in all of that to go right over your head, but if they didn't then you would have a pretty good understanding of at least one of the 'mites I would think.

Thanked: 1160If you like salty, beefy kind of flavor then this is up your alley RMarsh. It's normally spread thin to semi thin along with butter on bread and toast(unless your like Mick in which case you just eat it by the spoon) but can also be used like a Bullion to make broth or to add to gravy , stew things of that sort. It has lot's of B vitamins so it's a nice hangover snack or pick me up if you will. And you generally either love it or hate it. Very few in betweens. You can purchase it at store like CostPlus World Market and sometimes WholeFoods and possibly at some health food stores or gourmet food stores may carry it. I get it from Amazon because most times at least with Marmite, I can only get the small jars. I get the 500 gram tubs from amazon because I like it that much and go through it(which reminds me ,I'm getting low). Most Mites are similar, but I'm a Marmite dude. Hope that helps a bit. It's really a nice alternative to sweets like jam and such at the brekky table...but, I do likes me Jam also. I will probably die a nice cardio vascular death some day I'm sure. Die doin what ya love I say.

Similar but not the same.
Where does bovril come into the mite discussion?
Mick is not the only lover of thick mite, I like it thick too, but occasionally very thin with lots of butter is nice on toast to apreciate the subtleties.
Some go for the 5 dab method, where strangely enough you dab a mitey knife on a piece of buttered toast rather like the 5 on a dice with spots, then Spread, this is an accepted method of light miteingBread and water can so easily become tea and toast
