Shiner Bock was a favorite when I lived in Texas but alas, it's a local brew and over the last five years or so, I've had ZERO luck locating it here in Florida. That is until yesterday when I located it in a liquor store not far from the place I just moved into and on Father's day to boot. Somewhere I think a good friend of ours who hails from the Lone Star State was looking down on me hoisting a huge mug of Shiner Bock and saying, "Here's to ya, Brother." And yes, they are every bit as tasty as I recall.
The older I get, the better I was

The father of a colleague of mine brews some really outstanding brown ale.

My local grocery stores carry shine bock. One even has their heffeweizen, which is also quite tasty.

Tonight I was at a bluegrass/americana show (Dehlia Low and The Steel Wheels both played) and as I'm a cheapskate, Saranac Ale in a can was my pleasure. Nothing like an evening of great music and decent beer.

For some reason it brings me show much joy to see two of my favorite things (SRs and beer, natch) together.

Today's beer was a local brew, Squatter's IPA.
