Delirium stands as one of the great Belgian golden ales in my opinion.

Along those same lines, here is some Grimbergen Blonde Ale (in its own glass of course) that I enjoyed over the weekend along with the beautiful spring weather we've been having.

As a Belgian i can only agree on the Belgian beers!!
My favorite Belgian beer is: Leffe (dark) and WestVleteren... but you can't find the 'West-Vleteren' abroad
It isn't even for sale in stores as the monks brew it and sell it in their 'monastery' (i hope i wrote that correctly)

    Default La Fin du Monde

Drank this beer many years ago; I saw it for sale at a beer and wine warehouse and yielded to temptation; I must admit that I had to revise my taste notes, this is indeed a world class beer having a score of 98 in the Beer Advocate site. It is a bottle conditioned Tripel Ale packing a 9% ABV. The nose told me of scents of fruits…lots of it, mango, bananas, figs..a very complex libation. The taste was nonetheless even better. You may ask, what is bottle conditioned? This is an unfiltered ale which means that there is yeast in the bottle, and that yeast keeps on working even in the bottle yielding these wonderful and complex flavors. If you see this ale for sale buy it and keep on supporting your local brewer. HOG

P.S. The taste notes were taken with a Libelle Fountain Pen loaded with Noodlers Bernanke Black

I just got home with some goodies. I've had the Java Head before, and I really like it, but the other two are first timers for me.

The Old Rasputin may be a first timer for you, but I doubt it'll be a last timer. Great stuff!

Nothing tonight, but I recently finished a six pack of Magic Hat #9 Not Quite Pale Ale. Before that it was Flying Dog Doggie Style Classic Pale Ale.

The Rasputin was really good. I'm following it up with the Southern 2x, which I think I like even more. I mean, it's different, so that's more a statement about my personal taste than anything else.

Just tapped another keg of Green Flash Hop Head Red IPA! SO GOOD! I've had a tapper for about 15 years now, and it's the only way to go!

Next weekend I'll be heading over the hills to Fort Bragg Ca. I checked out the North Coast Brewery's site and they have some Old Rasputin that has been aged for a year in oak bourbon barrels. I'm just gonna have to pick a bottle or two. Today was Sierra Nevada Summerfest.
