We just arrived at Stord, a large island at the westernmost part of Norway. We are taking part in celebrating a good friends 40th birthday party at their summer house.

Finally Friday!!
This week has been extremely hot.
Well, by Norwegian standards anyway
Today it was about 85F, so I basically melted away at work.
Here's my remedy for that issue.
A few Spanish and German friends to the rescue.

Thanked: 2284Tonight with a nice medium rare strip loin I'm having a beer from Michigan. I love my wheat Ales, and when I read the bottle on this one, I had to try it.
It's called Calabaza Blanca brewed by Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales LLC. It's an Artisan White Ale with a lot of spices, and 4.8% alcohol. My opinion of it...... It's a dandy!! Full pint bottle, or 750ml, or a large "Bomber" bottle will keep my thirst under wraps.

A very nice Texels Skuumkoppe (freely translated "foamhead" from the frothy waves pounding the shores) brewed on the largest island of the Netherlands, Texel. A truly creamy beer, made from ingredients originating from the island it self.

A while ago I stumbled across a ginger beer from Phillips, a brewer in BC:
Ginger Beer | Phillips Beer
I haven't had much luck in locating this locally, so I pretty much forgot all about it.
I then stumbled across this on Saturday:
While not quite as good (from what I remember) as the Phillips offering, it was still quite tasty!!

Thanked: 2284Hot day of work today. Now i'm sitting on my rump, watching Mickey Mouse with my daughter and enjoying a Stiegl. Don'tnormally drink Pilsners, but this is a very good one. It'svery refreshing and doesn't have all the hidden crap in it like a lot of Macrobeers do. I love the Bavarian purity laws!!! I could strictly drink German beer, and be a happy guy!!
