I'm a lover of the strong IPA's, the hoppier the better and yet some crispness and a touch of malt sweetness. Foothills Brewery, out of Winston-Salem, North Carolina has many great IPA's. I love Jade that is only on tap at certain bars.

Last week I tried another on tap IPA at Bull McCabe's in downtown Durham, North Carolina, Southern Tier's Unearthly, Imperial Pale Ale. This one is sold on tap and in bomber size. 9.5 % ABV, 23degree plato, 2-row pale malt, cara-pils malt, red wheat, kettle hops: chinook & cascade, hop back: styrian golding, dry hopped: cascade, centennial & chinook. Southern Tier is not from the south, but from Lakewood, New York.

Just try it. Unearthly and unbelievably tasty.
