What yeast did you use? I just tried the Barbarian from Imperial for the first time last weekend which is supposed to be the Conan strain from The Alchemist. I threw in some Centennials at 60, then a few oz of Mosiacs at flame out. My nose was glued to the airlock for a few days. Kegging next weekend..

Thanked: 2284This beer was recommended to me 5 years ago by a beer connoisseur on Youtube. I told him that I really enjoy German Hefeweizens like Erdinger, Weihenstefaner, and Schneider Weisse. He told me that this one is one of the best he's ever had. Since then I have tried countless times to find it, with no luck. I had completely forgotten about it until I stumbled upon it today at the beer store.
It's as delicious as I expected. Cheers everyone!Today was the hottest day yet this year here in Ontario. 29 degrees Celsius.

That looks delicious, Harrywally.
I was a big fan of Paulaner Hefeweizen when I could find it locally.

If you can find Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier, please don't pass it up. I can find it sometimes here in Denver. It is not to be missed if you like the style.

Thanked: 2284I picked up a 6 pack of that as well. Had it at the local pub one time and enjoyed it very much.

If I like the beer I buy a shirt and represent. Some of my favorites but I like a couple other ones that are not to close but will travel to them soon and of course buy a shirt or sweater!

Outstanding beer IMO!
Decades ago, there was a great mom and pop German Restaurant in upstate NY not too far from New York City. I think it was called "The Schnitzelbank" if I recall. Was it in Binghamton, NY? I can't remember. Anyway, I always made a detour to get there when I could. Oma cooked in the back and Opa tended bar. Best German food I ever had in my life, and I have been to Germany. I always ordered Paulaner.
I miss that restaurant and I miss having a Paulaner. I need to get one somewhere.
