Tea anyone ??!!

This is my first attempt at brewing Oolong tea, thank you Bela, and NoseWarmer and all the one's who made this happen, I used my new tea set, this is the first steep of some Hawaiian oolong, and tomorrow I will make some more for my daughter. thanks gang, this stuff, believe it or not, is better than the stuff in a bag!!

Looking at the picture, I see mistakes. I didn't swirl the water upon the leaves, nor did I serve it into the cups in a circular motion. One got the top, one got the bottom, but; I got both of them!!

Live and learn, learn to live, I'm doing just fine.............

phil, i totally love that tea set. i may have to look at the middle eastern market and get me a new tea set soon, but definately not this week.

So do you do what I do luke, and make your iced tea up, and put it in a store bought iced tea bottle a well do you? Not wrong about the heat. Sitting in front of a fan on full bore, stripped down to the shorts and going straight into the pool the moment I hit 'Post quick reply'! :)

Damn you! here I am working in a giant tin shed with no air con and in cams (thick long pants and shirt ) without a pool waiting for me at home! :)

Yep I sure do, those Lipton bottles seem to be a perfect size, one pot of brewed tea and then fill the rest of the way with plain water. It gives the perfect mix of taste and longevity IMO. Problem is that you have to buy the Lipton tea and drink it first, and not blowing wind up my a$$ but I reckon my iced tea tastes better. I need a few bottles in rotation though cause I drink them too quickly!

Yep. I already have three to use. Two would do, but the third is there for when i starts getting hotter. The pool was bloody nice by the way and then my neighbour handed me a nice home stilled Bourbon and coke over the fence to speed the cooloing process' up...Followed by a second and third...Probably why I have to keep going back and re-typing incoherent/incorrect words at the moment. You have a lovely afternoon Luke...:)

Well if you're at work and able to reply to SRP postsI should have joined the bloody Air Force all those years ago instead ot the Army! You get the good life you blokes I tell ya! :)

You bring that Cider along old mate. We'll enjoy it together if circumstance allows. I have to go sort my gear out soon for an early morning trip to the farm soon. So no more alcoholic beverage for me. Back to the tea after this. It was nice though, but I really gotta get my head back on straight...Not drunk mind, but I wouldn't go jumping on the bike for a ride right this moment all the same! :)

I think it might be Earl Grey time in about 20 minutes.

Did someone say....... CIDER !?? MMmm I love me some cider I do. Hope you're going to have one for me or I will be a might upset now. So Check this out. I make a pot of tea. enough for a cup or two fer me plus two or three more.The extra two or three I let cool down in the pot and then pour that with the water into a glass wide mouth jar w/ lid. As for sweeting. When I make a pot ,I add sugar 1- 1 1/2 tablespoons of sugar to the pot and stir it good.This way I get the perfect sweet without over indulging cup by cup.When I make the rest into iced tea,I don't add anymore sugar.I 've found that after adding the cool water,that it's just the right amount of sweet without rotting my gums out.And the tea is nice and icey cold. Puurfecctooo ! ...Now..back to that Cider....We Hobbits love that stuff you know !:chapeau

I brew the first 'pour' ("rinsing from an elevated pot") for about 30 - 45 seconds (including the "the spring wind brushes the surface" part, including pouring water over the pot) and then pour into the tea cup and the rest down the sink (I make sure I pour away all the water; normally you would have more than one cup).

For the second 'pour' I pour from a lower height and steep for about 15 seconds; I pour into a cup almost immediately. I'm very new to this sort of tea but I quite like that ritual...

Did you pay a lot for the cake? I got one from an Asian market near me for less than ten dollars, but I see some on line that seem to be VERY expensive...
