For me it's a seasonal thing: it's not summer until I've had my 1st gin and tonic with a twist of lime. Brand is unimportant, lots of ice IS. There's nothing more refreshing, but I don't drink it at any other time of the year.
And any bartender who would put club soda in a gin and tonic is clearly not fit for the job. There are many roads to sharp.

Thanked: 240Tanquray for gin and tonics or tom collins, and beefeater for a martini.

Bombay Sapphire, vermouth, and a ****tail onion. served up.
Liquid truth serum for me.
On a side note, has anyone ever had Tempelton Rye before? What is your opinion? My in-laws live in the town that it is distilled in. They say that it has been doing well in competitions around the country. Subsequently it has become very hard to find. I would like to try it next time it comes available.Last edited by JMIdeker; 12-29-2010 at 04:58 PM. Reason: censoring- appearantly c_cktail is a dirty word.

I know it's not classy by any means, but Kratchie got me hooked on New Amsterdam. It may only be $20 per handle, but at least it comes in a glass bottle.
I like it on the rocks with a splash of tonic. Haven't been drinking much recently, but when I do, I can drink it all night.
