When I was growing up and we raised sheep we sold the lambs to others and ate mutton!
I haven't got a deer yet but found a couple nice puff ball mushrooms. I decided to try a new recipe. Wheat and arrow root flour, egg and Asiago cheese. Then sauteed. Also making Grape juice from some wild grapes. I haven't tasted that yet but the mushroom was excellent!
