quality soda pop

Not a big fan of cokes (the generic southern term for sweet carbonated beverages). Once in a blue moon I'll pick up a good root beer (A&W has it on tap in huge frosted mugs, great on a hot day) but generally, I prefer sweet tea, lemonaide, beer or ice water.

where? I'm from Indy too... I want to know where I can get this stuff by the 2l. there's a place by me that sells 24/12oz bottles, but its $20 for a 24 pack.

I've not lived in this city long enough to know where it could be found, this was my experience in Chicago. I'm not sure if there are enough religious Jews in Indianapolis to justify the legendary Jewish Passover Coke.

Another Moxie fan here. The absolutely unique taste is worth the trouble to get. Only if you like it though. It's a love it or hate it drink for sure.

I'm a bit of a drink snob I guess.
All plastics used for bottling that I have encountered leach into the drink. All metals used for canning that I have encountered leach into the drink.
My brother was the head engineer for a large bottle manufacturer and I have to hear all about this junk.
I only use glass bottles for my drinks.

In my world:
-a pop is what you can purchase in most stores
-a soda is made from carbonated water and syrup
-a soft-drink is a lightly alcoholic beverage made from fresh ingredients and fermented in yeast, like a soft-beer (root beer, ginger ale, sarsaparilla)
-a hard beer Is what most here would call a beer
-a hard drink is made from hard liquor

For my dollar there is nothing better than a properly made soft beer.
I have to laugh at blenheim's (sp), they claim to be made the old fashioned way. It is a great ginger flavored soda, but not a ginger ale.

Interesting - so a true ginger "ale" would be lightly alcoholic? Know of any commercial examples? (Preferably with as much heat as Blenheim's!)

Not right off. I have been looking for some time. Unfortunately soft beers fell out of fashion with the introduction of sodas. They are relatively easy to make with a little knowledge. If you're interested just PM.

Stewart's Root Beer and Ginger Ale are not bad........

Ginger ale is a carbonated softdrink and ginger beer is a brewed (soft)drink, neither necessarily alcoholic, but a homebrewed ginger beer is more than likely alcoholic to one degree or another (but still doesn't have to be). I've made a few not-for-kids ones myself.
