    Default quality soda pop

sooo, one of my guilty pleasures is really good soft drinks.

stuff that makes IBC root beer taste meh.

for instance, I just got some "natural brew" brand "outrageous ginger ale." it is not to die for, but most certainly to kill for. I might not ever drink another type of soda ever again.

Parting question: do you say "soda," "pop" or "soda-pop?"

Soda for me too. I'm typically just a Mtn Dew man, but when I want to get a little fancy, I reach for the Jones Soda green apple flavor. I've also been known to imbibe a vanilla Dr Pepper, when available.

I'm not sure if the drink is a different recipe or not, but once and a while I enjoy a Coca-Cola in the small glass bottle. For some reason they seem to taste different than those in a can or plastic.

Around here anything with carbonated water & syrup is considered a "coke".

I think I've only ever said "soft drink(s)".

If you like ginger ale, go straight to the top and get the red cap.

I say pop but I have to agree on the choice. I've had my share of 'exotic' soft drinks but I will never love any beverage as much as I like Vanilla Coke. As strange as it sounds, I own a vanilla coke t-shirt and I petitioned coca-cola when they stopped production on VC a few years ago. I then proceeded to buy 12 cases before they left the stores.

I'm also a big fan of Stewart's Orange 'n Cream. I'm not sure if the stuff is technically a "top shelf" pop but it's delicious!

That stuff is awesome, the price however has recently went from 6 bucks for a 6 pack to $9, so I quit buying it. Just not worth it at the price anymore to me.

Around here the glass bottled coke/fanta is often referee to as "Mexican soda" reason being the best place to find it is Mexican grocery stores, the difference you may be tasting is regular coke is made with corn syrup, glass bottled coke is made with cane sugar.

Here we call it soda I can always go for a good root beer or birch beer.

I'm a Throwback Pepsi fan myself. Love the cane sugar versus the high fructose corn syrup. I usually call them pops or cokes (regardless of brand). But when ordering in a restaurant I ask for Pepsi.

I hate to be a wet blanket but AFAIC "quality" soda pop is a contradiction in terms. I call it sugar water and haven't touched it in a decade. YMMV.
