This reminds me of the story about the time some friends of ours went to Ireland. These are Carolina people, Sandlappers to the core, who just wanted to get a taste of the local atmosphere at a real Irish pub. When a local asked them what they like to do, their reply was, "Shagging" (the state dance of South Carolina). I would have paid to see the look I heard about on the Irishman's face. Classic stuff you can't make up.
There are many roads to sharp.

I really like Diet Pepsi with a splash of grenadine (I know, defeats the purpose of diet....but its dang good heh). Also, Vernors ginger ale is good. I also like Jarritos Toronja (mexican grapefruit flavored soda), available at a few mexican grocery stores around me. It's much better than "squirt".
Also, here in MI, everything is called "Pop!"

Forgot to mention.
As a kid getting a bottle of this was always a huge treat. Have not had it in over 30 years so for all I know it may suck but the memory of it was good

Here in Norway all Coca-Cola is made with real sugar, but the glass bottles are still the best

Having spent some quality time on the beautiful island Malta, one of my favorite soft drinks is Kinnie.

Thanked: 983We call them by the name given i.e Lemonade, Coke, Sprite etc when required, but the general name is Soft-Drink (as opposed to harder stuff like beer and stiff drinks like spirits I suppose...Dunno really). When I was a kid we referred to it as Lolly-Water. It's all just garbage anyway, but some of them go well with whiskey/bourbon

I hardly ever drink any soft drinks.
When I do, it is always Coca Cola. In a glass bottle.Bjoernar
