I use a Charlescraft bread machine - and dsconnected everything and dicarded the heating element in the bread machine and the circuit board. All I have is the shell of the machine, and the motor is direct wired (for now) so that when its plugged in, it runs. I hope tio add a switch one of these days - maybe after the holidays.

I drilled a hole in the top of the lid of the machine - with a hole saw - and thats it. I dont use a thermocouple or thermometer, but go by sound, smell and colour of the beans.

I have a Rancilio Silvia - V3 - which I control with an auber PID - the PID is about 4 years old, so its not the new, shiny, silver metal, steam and brew control version - its in an old plastic projecty box from radio shack, velcroed to the side of the machine - it controls the boiler temp only, but it works like a charm. Its ugly, but it works. I have and old rancilio rocky grinder - a $75 score of craigslist, that is also a bit ugly, but works.

    How about you???

Right now i have a Saeco Vienna Plus superauto, I never could get results getting a good shot with the manuals guess i can't tamp very well or grind. The grinder in the machine broke and cannot be adjusted anymore, however i must have hit the spot while varing the setting because it's giving me the best i've had so far.

I feel like a dirty necro-poster. Where are the roasters?

After building a couple of small ones I moved to a BBQ gas grill plus rotisserie - a 2-pounder. It's been pretty good for a couple of years now.

I am also a mokapot nutjob.
