The Knob Creek supplied by TC and Ron was addicting. The 120 proof was not harsh and very tasty. Drank more bourbon this week than in the last decade.

I haven't had a chance to drop in here recently so I was just reading the last couple of pages of posts. This made me smile!
I'm working on a Buunnahabhain Toiteach for my blog, but not getting anywhere very fast. I'm not a fan of being busy.
Incidentally, anyone know of anywhere still selling the Lagavulin 12 year old cask strength? Preferably in the UK, ideally in Bath since I'll be dropping by there in a week or two's time. Norway seems to have run out.
I've had the best luck with this wine search page. Yep looks like Norway is dry.
Lagavulin Cask Strength 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Islay, Scotland: prices in Norway
My wife passed out beside me from sheer exhaustion 2 hours ago. Managed to get the girls to bed, and now I'm catching up on 6 Forged in fire episodes I've missed.
Lag 8 is being called upon for ultimate me time.

I really like it. You can tell it's a Lagavulin with the peat smell. Not sure I like it better than the 16. The 16 really shows it maturity with how smooth it is. The 8 has a higher abv, and has a bit more bite, not a bad thing, and doesn't have the long finish the 16 has.

I've got to find some of that Laga 8. How does it compare to the 16 price-wise? The 16 is worth it, but it is definitely at my outer limit that I am willing to spend on scotch!
Me too, Lag 16 is probably right at the ceiling of what I'd pay. On the right day, with a couple LCBO gift cards in my wallet, you might catch me buying something a little more expensive.
I've been able to have a nice verity of different Scotches in my short newb whiskey experience, and the Lag 16 is still the best 'Whiskey' I've had. Stranahan's is probably my favourite unpeated whiskey.
Here in Canada the Lag 16 is $122 and change. Lag 8 Is $99, and Lag 12 is $159. I can order the Lag 12 online for just under $200.
Both the 16 and 8 are very good, and I'd definitely buy both again.
My Dad, Uncle and I polished off my 16 at Christmas, and ever since it's been gone I've been dying to get another bottle.
I checked in the price of Lagavulin 16 y.o. at the local grocery store last week. It was $89. That's up by $10-15 since I checked over the summer.
