Re: Scotch/whiskey of the day
Try the Yamazaki 12. I'd start with any of the nicer Speyside single malts honestly. I like the flavor of the Yamazaki and the price is nice too.
Now I know it's technically not a scotch, and not a Speyside, but it still is. If you taste tested it blindfolded you wouldn't know the difference, and they import their grain and peat from Scotland and use high mountain water, same as any Speyside.
Re: Scotch/whiskey of the day
A decently stocked liquor store should carry it. I'm not sure what city you're in, but there are probably ten different liquor stores within ten miles of me that carry it. So it's not like it's rare, you know.

Wow Cangooner, I can get a'bunadh for sixty bucks here, and the Aberlour 16 for about the same. The Yamazaki 12 and the glenrothes 12 are both about $35.
I'm going to get a bottle of the Yamazaki 18 next weekend, a bit more expensive at 90.
