Well, it looks like Elliette picked up another stray in Portland today. Laphroaig 18 year old. She pulled it out of the bag and all she said was "This one isn't for guests".
It's very nice, but not "twice-the-price-of-the-ten-year-old" nice. She likes it plenty, though. I like it better than this Talisker 10 I'm chasing it with.
Not whiskey, but I figured that shouldn't stop me from posting :)
remy martin 1738 - good stuff!
That's a fine cognac. :)
The other night I had a Whistle Pig with dinner. Now I need to get myself a bottle of that stuff.

I bought a bottle of Balvenie 17 year old to keep at work for when we finish big projects. Had a nice neat glass of the stuff today. So good.
The Balvenie 17 is amazing. I bought it at the same time as Laphroig 18 and I like the Laphroig better than the Balvenie. It is a little pricey, each bottle was around $150. So I decided to donate that bottle to the blacksmith shop that I work at. The rule is when we finish a job worth more than 5k we all have a nice neat glass of scotch.
The Laphroig 18 is my personal special occasion scotch.
I like Laphroiag 10 and Quarter cask, so I imagine the 18 is excellent. Is it sherried?
