I sent the Mrs off to Aberdeen, Scotland for the weekend so now I get to relax and enjoy yet another iteration of Douglas Laings independent old particular. This time around I went for a more peaty dram.
This one is a 17 year old single malt distilled at Caol Ila.
A very tasty dram, but it has a tad more bite to it than I ideally prefer. It does finish superbly though, with a real sweet coffee/ vanilla taste mixed in with the smokiness
