Wine of the day
Those of you that have been around for a while know that one of my other passions is good wine.
My wine of the day, this evening, is from Italy.
Farnese - Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2010
A pleasant wine with a hint of cherry.

Another Italian
Planeta Cerasuolo di Vittoria 2009
A soft, fresh and fruity wine. Perfect for sipping when I want to relax with a good book and some classical music.
Just what the Doctor ordered.

Thanked: 90Lately (as in for the past ten years now) I've been into Malbecs. Does anyone here know how they age? I had bought some 2002 stuff when my son was born (in 2002) and I've been holding it for his 18th birthday. I'm wondering what to expect.

What country is your malbec from? And what producer?

Malbec? As Benjamin said, which country and maker?
I would bet it is either French or Argentinian.
Argentina had a very good season in 2002, so it might hold up well.

Thanked: 90It is Argentinian, and 2002. I found a wine shipping box with a styrofoam insert that holds three bottles. I placed them in there and have kept them in a cool place for the past ten or so years. They may have gotten heated up in the few times I've moved (sitting in a truck or storage unit for no more than a week once), but mostly they've been on their side in a dark closet.
