Before moving onto a different brew method for every day I was using the aeropress.

    Method

    Heat 8-10 oz of water.

Set up aeropress in standard configuration.

Grind two aeropress scoops of beans.

    Add grinds to press.

Place second filter on top of grinds and tamp down ( the bottom of a spice container works well.)

Pour about 2-3 oz of water in aeropress.

    Plunge right away

Drink as espresso or add remaining water

A few weeks ago my cheap little Breville Cafe Modena finally died. I upgraded to this Gaggia and am very happy with it. It's a much more solid machine the delivers a natural crema.

Do you have to use the torch to heat up the water?

No the Gaggi heats up really nice. But I do need to roast beans.

We'll, I'm not an expert. And my budget limitations dictated much of my decision. At the price range they didn't seem to be a better option. I didn't want pressurized filters and wanted it to be fairly manual. True coffee geeks might have better options but it seemed like a good choice for me. I have my preferences with coffee and this seems to deliver so ill take it. But I've heard that the Classic is not the same if you buy it in Europe. I've heard bad things about changes they made to comply with certain standards there yet the US version remains the same. I don't know if that effects you. Buyer beware.

Budget dictated my decision but for the price range the gagi here was also one of the main recommended units on the coffee forums that I used for researching.
