Thanked: 0Soothing the skin for the day ahead!
Hi All,
I'm relatively new to the forum so please forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong section or if this has been covered elsewhere.
I have started straight razor shaving at the beginning of the year and have found it easier to shave at night before bed. This gives me time to complete my shave without rushing and it's kind of relaxing before bed too! I just want to know if anyone uses any products for their skin when they don't shave? Or is it best to let my skin chill without any balms or moisturizer? Currently when I wake up the next morning after shaving I reapply my balm.
Random question I know. But any help is appreciated.
Thank you!

Moisturizing is always a good thing so reapplying the shave balm is a good thing. I shave at night also if I remember I will reapply my aftershave wax. The days I don't I can normally tell but I also spend all day outside in the wind.

Thanked: 1195The need probably depends on your climate and your skin, but many of us use products on no-shave days. My preference is for Body Shop Maca Root Skin Protector. It's moisturizing without being greasy and very lightly scented and won't interfere with colognes etc.

No shame in moisturizing. I do each night. Started by using my wife's, but now I just buy my own. Nancy Boy has a good night cream for men.

When I shave at night I use jojoba oil. It's very soothing on the skin. Next morning I use my aftershave post shower. Though I prefer jojoba there are many that work nicely. Almond, coconut, vitamin E, and avocado are all nice and soothing and won't clog your pores.
