Thanked: 2think I found my new aftershave
I've only shaved with a straight razor about 10 times now and been trying to find the combination that works best for me.
Ordered up a tub of Tabac and the aftershave.
Tonight I finally had a chance to use it... My god does my face thank me!
The soap itself lathered up like nothing I had seen before, but then again I'm new lol!
After I put the aftershave on, there was little "kiss" on the skin and that was it. The scent is glorious and my face feels so damn good! Even the little lady was impressed and likes the scent as well.
Huge bonus is the fancy porcelain bowl the soap came in

Thanked: 1185I was a late bloomer when it came to Tabac. I told myself for years that I'd try it and never got around to it. When I finally did my reaction was very similar to yours. Today, Tabac and Mitchell's Wool Fat are my two go to soaps. Think I'll go shave with it now.

Thanked: 3795ChrisL was interested in Tabac so I brought some to my first MN meet-up at Mike Blue's place in maybe 2008 or 2009. He cut a sliver out of my puck and brought it home. Before he got a chance to try it, his wife severely vetoed it because of its smell!
She described its smell as a combination of Lysol and Aqua Net!
She insisted it be removed from their house, so he never even got a chance to try it.
It seems that a lot of people hate the smell of Tabac. I've never understood it, as I've always liked its smell.

I am with Utopian. I like the smell of Tabac and rank it as one of my top five soaps.

It is amazing when you find the right combo for your skin. Mine is not with either of those products, but what matters is that when you do find the correct combo you don't even want to try other things.
Cheers

I myself have tried a lot of soaps/creams ,, I do not use the Tabac very often, not because of the lather, its top notch in that respect, I just haven't acquired the scent. have the aftershave also , paired together not bad , superior lather tc

Thanked: 2Is the tabac aftershave a liquid like aqua velva, or is it more of a creamy lotion? I know it's called a lotion, but I think clubman it also called a lotion and that stuff is just liquid. If it's similar consistency as aqua velva, clubman, old spice AS I'll probably hold off for now as I have those three aforementioned already! Thanks gents
ps: i thought the liquid aftershaves were called "splashes," but then I saw clubman AS lotion and got confused; can anyone clarify? I don't mean to hi-jack; my main question is about the tabac
