Thanked: 2castle forbes balm...
I use and love castle forbes lime shaving cream, so I took the plunge and ordered the (extremely expensive) aftershave balm. It smells wonderful, but...am I missing something? I don't find it to be very soothing? My face still got dry after use? How can they justify the price? Like I said, it smells awesome, but my Nivea seems to work better...
I just applied it after a cold water splash, not rocket science, but maybe I'm doing it wrong?...(I'm new to fancy shaving)
thanks

Castle Forbes makes my favorite balm with the cedarwood. I use it after a warm rinse only and I am happy with the performance. I only use AS during the warm months but in winter
I mostly use a balm. Good luck.Bob

I use the 1445 and it is an excellent balm, I get so many comments on the scent which has fantastic staying power and projection, it moisturises great and a little go's a long way.
Worth every penny IMO.

I have to say I haven't found it too moisturising but I do tend to use too much. Maybe try using less?
That said, my face is all over the place these days. I tend to get sensitivity from just about anything after shaving...

Its like a treat, the best part of every shave, it turns my face super soft to the touch . Worth every penny.

Thanked: 15I may be the exception, but I think that Castle Forbes Sandalwood/Cedar is one of the best balms. I think this to be one of the reasons there are so many products on the market. In the event that you decide to toss your CF balm, IM me and I will send you an address that you can mail it to dispose of it properly. :-)
