    Default Alum blocks

I have some questions about alum blocks. Right now I use Osma Block in the box http://www.amazon.com/Bloc-Osma-Alum.../dp/B004NEHR28. After I use is it I dry the block on a towel and then store it in the box. Should I use a separate plastic container for the block? Should I leave it out to air dry?

I did this, dry & box, for over a year with no ill effect. Then I got lazy and just dry and set on shelf now.

I use alum that I got from the spice souk (market), hence no box.

I just leave it in a shallow dish.

It's not particularly wet when I finish using it, probably because I re lather with whatever is left on the brush, then use the alum over the lather, it kills the lather, then just put it in the dish.
