Thanked: 2Considering making an aftershave wax
Got a little bit of razor burn and a few nicks. I figure I will have that while I am learning to use the Weck Sextoblade and Gold Dollar. With Winter coming I will also have issues with dry skin and wind burn at times as well.
My plan is a thin wax. Bees Wax, Witch Hazel, Lavender, Pine Needle, Tea tree, and Chamomile. I might also have a little coconut oil to make sure it sets up, Hemp Seed oil for the vitamins and fatty acids, and other oils for scent.
Has anyone tried an aftershave wax? I am finding the waxes more pleasant than oils to work with in the morning.

I have used RazoRock. I found it very different from an aftershave, more like a lotion in it's staying power.
Ingredients;Orange blossom water, grain alcohol, emulsifying wax, vegetable glycerin, essential oils [lavender, coriander, juniper, sandalwood, tangerine, patchouli, fir needle, and lemon]
Mostly smells like pine needles.

A little dab will do ya. If you have tried gel type aftershave, it's like that. Thick enough to get a bit on a finger from the screw top container. Swipe and smear around for coverage. It dried off within minutes, but left a pleasant moist feeling unlike many alcohol based aftershaves that flash off and are just gone.

Thanked: 2Cool. I have been doing a splash of witch hazel then a dab of lavender, then my beard wax. I love the feeling on my cheek and it limits bleeding from my nicks which are getting better.

Thanked: 2The beard and mustache wax have some oils just for scent. The after shave pretty much only has purpose. I didn't integrate the witch hazel and wax properly. I am not sure how it will be but it is setting up. So it may not be too bad.

I guess I always assumed this was for the top of your head. >< Never knew you could use it as an aftershave treatment for your face.
