    Default Is this a gimmick?

It seems like a "caffinated" after-shave is a gimmick, but I'm wondering if anyone here has tried this product, and, if so, if they like it?

I think it means it smells like coffee. There is a shaving cream of that line I believe and some folks like it.

Actually, it says on the back (I looked at it at Target) that they specifically add caffeine because it apparently helps with bumps and redness? Sounds kinda fishy to me...

I've used the non-caffeinated cream by them. Not bad. Also, I'm not well versed. This brand was mentioned in a thread I had started just before this last thanksgiving.

Because I haven't used it, I cannot speak to its effects. But at the very least, because there is caffeine in a product slathered on your skin, some of that will be absorbed into your skin. I shave just before bed, hence why I haven't used it.

    I hope this helps!

Ive used it. Its not bad shaving cream. I didn't notice any boost from the caffeine or anything. Also it smells like toothpaste, which is well not the greatest.

Probably a gimmick, but if you want to find out for yourself, you don't need to risk much money.

i like this cream very much for a OTC easy to get cream. there is no coffee smell its smells like spearmint as opposed to menthol eucalyptus that we are so used to. I don't know if caffeine does anything significant but caffeine in general is a vasoconstrictor, a big word for tightens blood vessels. The cream itself performs well has good lather and provides a good glide for either DE or Straight shaving. I find the smell pleasant. I think its worth a try.

You can buy caffinated shampoo (Alpecin) so stands to reason it's in aftershave.. No idea if it works though.

I know this is an old thread, but I have used this product. I am not a huge fan of it, it is very thick and feels like you are rubbing softened butter on your face :/. the cream on the other hand, while it has a fairly strong spearmint smell does perform surprisingly well.
