    Default Great Post Shave Cream

I am a real newbie when it comes to straight razor shaving. Working on making the switch from DE shaving. I'm always looking for that BBS shave. And sometimes get a little too over zealous and wind up with razor burn and the occasional weeper and nick. I found a cream called Honeyskin which has Manuka Honey in it. The cream helps to hydrate your skin and the honey in it really stops my razor burn and starts healing the skin. So for those like me or for those who want a great post shave feel l think you will like this cream.

Google did not really put on the product. Do you perhaps have a link? I am always into new products for myself and for gifts.

Sorry about that Rezdog. I got it on Amazon. Go on Amazon search and plug in Honeyskin Organics. It comes in 2oz. up to 64oz. I picked up the 4oz. cost $24.60. You really only need a little that jar will last me a long time. In fact Honeyskin Organics just sent me a 10% off coupon for my review on there product. Hope it works out for you!

Post shave I can usually get by with nothing, a properly honed and stropped razor and good technique will stop your razor burn, but when I fail in my job I really like Myrsol Milk, , but this is the second time I've heard of honey products being good to use, but for an all around great post shave that will kill razor burn dead the old standby and dirt cheap Noxema is great. Tc. 5.00$ big jar last for ever

I rarely get razor burn, but when I was new to all of this I did. I used Proraso pre/post shave and it worked amazingly well for razor burn. Proraso markets it more as a pre shave but I never cared for using it like that.

I would suggest focusing more on comfort then closeness. For a long time I wanted every shave to be BBS. Over time I've gotten pretty good at getting really close irritation free shaves. My skin would still get irritated later in the day from having all of the whiskers cut below skin level though. This resulted in me shaving less often. About a year ago I stopped going AGT and started finishing with XTC and I have never enjoyed shaving more. I still get plenty close and I'll still go AGT on occasion.

I make my own post shave balm. Equal parts coconut oil and unrefined Shea butter. I microwave the mix just until it melts and then pour into a container with a screw lid and put it in the fridge until it solidifies again. A small amount lasts forever. Feels great on my skin post shave (I generally apply Witch Hazel first). Especially in winter.

I just use Nivea Soft. Not for burn but to moisturize. I was taught that by my Dad and my great uncle, who was a barber. When you shave you exfoliate and it protects and helps heal the skin.
