Post-Shave Oil
My skin is very prone to blackheads. Really bad on my cheeks. My face gets really dry after shaving and I want to use something after my aftershave (Clubman) that will help. I've tried olive oil (works very well) and blams, but oil works the best. I just don't want something that's gonna clog my pores and cause blackheads or breakouts. Any ideas?

Thanked: 155Be aware that many of these products do contain oil (Nivea for example contains soybean oil). Basically, most products intended to "moisturize" the are primarily some type of oil/water emulsion. It's the water that does the actual moisturizing, and the oil is there to hold the water against your skin.
Since your basic concern is backheads, your skin is probably not naturally dry. I would just splash on some water or use a hydrosol like witch hazel. You could also add some glycerine to the mix. Glycerine (an alcohol) will trap water and hold it against your skin.

Thanked: 11853 words: Corn Huskers Lotion
This is a brilliant mix of glycerin and moisturizers that makes for a most effective ASB. It's available everywhere (Walmart, Walgreen's, etc.) and can be had for very reasonable prices ($3-4 a bottle)

I use rose hip oil but it breaks out my skin a good bit. I think it is worth it though because they breakouts are minimal

re-post shave oil
Where do you live? I remember when I lived in the south my skin was worse than when I lived by an ocean or in the mountains. I think it has to do with humidity..........More sweat.......So saying that, you might try to wash with cool water first then shave. DOn't use alcohol based after shave because that just closes pores and doesn't allow them to breath and release the toxins...Try the mellower stuff like Ogallala after shave or any balm without alcohol..good luck. I know it sucks but you may have to give up the sting of alcohol. I love it too..
