My Post Shave System. Thoughts?
After a nice ice cold shave, I usually pat in some Old Spice aftershave followed by some CO Bigelow Bay Rum Aftershave Balm which nicely helps cool and heal some. Plus it smells and works great in my opinion. The smell though just is quickly fleeting though.
I then usually wait a moment before putting some Every Man Jack face lotion which is great after a close shave and it does a stellar job keeping my face from drying or chapping.
I usually then just do another round of old spice and wait for it all to dry before heading out onto the town. What do you guys thing? Too much? Got any substitutes I should try? Something I am totally missing? I'd like to try and get more of a consistent fragrance going, preferably to keeping everything Bay Rum. Any ideas guys? How is Clubman's Bay Rum aftershave?

Clubman's Bay Rum is good stuff! There are no hard and fast rules on this stuff...it's just whatever you like and/or makes you more comfortable. I double dose on my aftershave just for the heck of it. In fact, I always tell myself, "once for the face and once for the scent". Usually on the second splash on the face there's enough left over to go treat the forehead, higher on the cheeks and just enough to dry off my hands in my hair for a little extra hold.

When I was a hot water shaver I rinsed with cold water, dried and applied an A/S. Now being a cold water shaver I rinse with hot water and follow the same procedure. I don't use a balm. My thinking on the hot water comes from the celebrated pamphlet where, as you know, he recommends a hot towel following the shave. I don't have the patience for that so the hot water will have to do. I also found that rinsing the soap out of the brush with hot water is probably getting the residue out better than if I rinsed it out with the cold. Thanks again for posting that pamphlet. Changed my life.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
