Aloe Vera Moisturizing Gel
Ladies and gentlemen:
JASON Aloe Vera 98% is a delightful product I have started using recently as an aftershave balm. Trumper's Coral Skin Food is my usual, but I also like this. My wife discovered it at a vitamin shop and bought it for me.
Since I fancy aloe vera, I find this natural and organic product quite effective and soothing as an aftershave balm. It is not oily, and it has no scent to interfere with the aftershave. It is reasonably priced, too.
You can find it at vitamin shops. I call it one of my better finds — dearly beloved's actually.
Regards,
Obie

It also works great for pre-shave. I've recently stopped using Baby oil and started using 98% pure Aloe, I love the results.

Thanked: 3795There is a simpler and more natural way to use aloe vera...
I have grown an aloe vera plant for several years. As needed, I cut off a single "leaf" or whatever the hell it is and take it down to the dungeon known as my bathroom. After shaving, I use a utility knife blade to cut about a half inch off of the leaf. I rub that between my hands, remove the couple of residual green bits, add whatever other aftershave I choose (usually RayG's formula of one part witch hazel, one part aloe, and and two parts cornhusker's lotion), rub that between my hands again, and apply it to my face.
You can't beat the price and it's about as natural as you can get!

Thanked: 0Hi all,
I'm a big fan of using natural (home-grown) rememdies where I can. For example; I make a tincture out of milk-thistle (Silybum Adans) to prevent hangovers when I drink too much (which is a lot), so I'm interested in hearing people's thoughts about natural alternatives to things like the styptic.
Aloe vera is great for releiving the itch and burn of shaving, but what (if anything) could you use to stem the blood from a nick - and yes, I'm a bleeder.
Let me put it another way; if the world were to fall to crap tomorrow and you couldn't buy any shaving paraphinalia, what would you use to stop the blood from a nick. In fact, what would you use to lather up with and use as an aftershave?
My thoughts - though untested - would be plain old alcohol to stop the blood, Aloe vera to sooth, and perhaps some type of herbal infused alcohol to smell pretty afterward. (Bergamot or Sandlewood being my two preferences). As for the lather...I'm not sure, but I guess making soap would be fairly straight forward? (Google, here I come).
What are your thougts?
Regards
Brad
