Thanked: 4Just wondering what everyone's post-shave ritual is
I am new to using a straight, but am enjoying getting a good post-shave ritual down. I may be using some unnecessary products... but I'm new at this...
1. Put razor in room to begin drying
2. Clean up left over lather with a towel
3. Splash of cold water
4. Put on Proraso aftershave (not sure the best way to do this... usually just dampen the hands then rub it around)
5. Clean/dry the brush/mug
6. Apply Thayer's Witch Hazel (like the aftershave, I'm a little unsure how to apply this, I feel it's hard to get enough to the face without too much extra just dripping into the sink)
7. Brush/floss/listerine/deodorant/clean ears/return shaving products to shelf
8. Using a q-tip, apply mineral oil to blade
9. Apply Nivea post-shave moisterizer
Just wondering if anyone had similar/different post-shave rituals. Thanks!

Thanked: 55Personally I clean and put away the razor, rinse my face with cold water and pat dry. I then splash a quantity of Dominica Bay Rum on my face and neck and then I'm done.
Regards,
EL

I rinse and wipe off the razor, give it a quick strop (10/20 on material and leather), then rinse my brush and mug out and store those, then I rinse my face with warm water, then with cold water to close the pores and then put on Trumpers Sandalwood skin food as an AS balm. Then I put a dab of aftershave on either side of my neck, just for the scent.
Works well for me!

Thanked: 3The same as most do, except that I put some Proraso on a tissue paper and tap it on my face instead of using my hand.
