    Default Styptic powder

I will start this by saying that I have only been straight razor shaving for a little over a month. I had read information about styptic powder which I was interested in. And then it dawned on me... I think I have bought something like that before. Later that day, while I was shaving my ear(CAUTION: objects in mirror are closer to vital body parts than they appear), I dipped my finger into the styptic powder container... you know, the one that reads,"For Dogs, Cats, and Birds." Well, it burned like I have heard reported, and it stopped the bleeding like it's is supposed too. I have no experience with this type of product intended for humans. I am fairly confident that I am not the first to use this product. Now while I intend to purchase the real thing after this supply runs out, I would like to hear opinions from more experienced members.

I have never used the product you mention before on myself. I have used it when clipping a parrots claws. I don't know if it is the same product. If it works, what the heck!!
