Could I use 3oz of cocoa butter or mango butter instead of aloe butter?
Could I use 3oz of almond oil instead of grape seed oil?
Are these stages really necessary ?
Could I just whip the ingredients without heating?
Are there any other recipes for after shave balm?
Thanks.Last edited by Slur; 04-17-2013 at 07:05 PM.

Just made my first attempt.
Six parts shea butter, 2 parts mango butter, 1 part cocoa butter, 3 parts grape seed oil 1 part sweet almond oil, neroli and jasmine essences
Mixed the ingredients in the microwave for 2 minutes.
Whipping.
Then put them into the refrigerator and after a while it was creamy.
Continues whipping and tomorrow will try it to my skin.Last edited by Slur; 04-18-2013 at 01:29 PM.

The result was too oily so I melted the cream and added 2 parts of shea butter, 1 part of cocoa butter, 1 part of mango butter and no oils.
It is more solid now. However, it is still far too greasy than an aftershave balm should be.
I wonder what could I add to make this balm more creamy and absorbable than greasy

The previous results were unsatisfactory and they were thrown away.
I had to make a cream, not just a mixed butter.
½ cup of oils and butters (25% cocoa butter, 25%mango butter, 25% sweet almond oil, 25% grape seed oil)
½ cup of chamomile infusion
14g beeswax
Few drops of essences and preservative
The result is a very dense cream:
I used it today as a balm. Very calming, excellent hydration. I would prefer it a bit less oily yet.Last edited by Slur; 04-20-2013 at 10:37 AM.

Thanked: 12Look's awesome, keep it out of your kitchen though if your wife bakes unless you want some funky tasting cupcakes.
