Thanked: 25Trumper Coral skin food
I have used Geo F Trumper coral skin food as an after shave treatment for years. Your face really drinks this stuff in. It is not greasy an dhas alight gragrance that does not linger. Makes your face feel great.

Hello, Legman:
Trumper's coral skin food has a large following here. Everything you say about it is on spot. I've used it for years and am never without it. Good stuff.
Regards,
Obie

+1 I like it too. I have the GFT limes and the GFT Coral skin food. Great stuff.

Thanked: 1195My shave den is never without Skin Food either. Once my bottle is empty I'm tempted to try another scent other than the coral, but I'm worried that I might be messing with a good thing! Lasts forever, too.

This is one of the products I've read about hundreds of times and thought to myself, you gotta try this B.
So far I haven't..
I use Thayer's SuperHazel mostly. Would this be an addition or a substitute to that?
And do you guys use ASB's or similar as well as this?Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

skin food is a balm and is used in addition to an astringent like witch hazel. it is great stuff. I want to try coral next, but have so many balms that I fear it to go bad if I purchase two at once. as it was said the stuff really seems to last. Unfortunately the bottle is so small that I lose it among my splashes and astringents.

Thanked: 1195Birnando,
This is my routine:
-hot and then cold water rinse following a shave
-apply alum
-cold water rinse
-apply Skin food, allow to dry somewhat while I do my post-shave cleanup
-apply aftershave splash/balm (I don't really have an allegiance to either, I just use whatever I feel like on that day)
I do feel that the skin food adds an extra moisturizing quality to your post shave routine, especially since AS's tend to have high alcohol content.

The super witchazel and Skin food are totally different products but having used both if you use the super I wouldn't also use the Trumpers. Personally if you use the super for irritation and nicks it's far superior to the skin food. If you want a general purpose aftershave balm the Trumpers is great by itself. The super leaves a strong afterbite which I don't think would complement the Trumpers but I could be wrong.
