    Default Good Moisturizer

So lately i have noticed my face feeling dry and tight about 5-10min after i shave and am wondering what a good moisturizer you recommend and when to apply. I and my SWMBO really like the Pinaud Clubman smell but it doesn't look like they have a cream version of it (at least i can't find one) so what would you guys recommend for being able to keep the Clubman smell and not feel the dry tightness of my face. Thanks!

Nivea Sensitive Balm is available at all drug stores and is scentless. It lasts a long time since you only need a small amount, about the size of a dime.

    BenjamanBarker,

+1 on the Nivea balms; E45 Lotion is also excellent, scentless and very well priced.

    Have fun !

    Best regards

Just about any moisturizer/aftershave balm will work. I use corn husker's lotion and it works great. I have recently been working with this aspect of my shaving as many in my family have troubles with drying skin. I have found that my best bet is to keep a few aloe plants around and rip a small piece off. I tried commercially available aloe and am unimpressed. I recently extracted a lot of aloe into a cold-processed witch hazel, but when comparing that to the commercially available thayer's no alcohol with aloe it is very similar.

The Nivea Balms are all fantastic. I myself often use Corn Huskers Lotion or just plain old Aloe Vera Gel (all three available at Walmart for not much money) Good moisturizers all three that won't interfere with the Clubman scent.

Olivia's balms - german both summer and winter variant do wonders for me and I have very dry skin. I use it on my whole face when slapping some on. Olivias is not as milky as some popular english stuff, it's more creamy.

I like that you can get it in many scents; I use one in citrus and one in sandalwood now. I love limes and her citrus is perfect for that. Em's Place does something similar to Olivia, and it is good, but I think Olivias is a better product. QED is good also, but it's much thicker and I don't think as well thought out. I still slap on a little scent or bay rum around my ears and neck after.

If you're really dry, like when I'm in the Nebraska wind all week hunting, I use Male Face. It's seriously good for a pure moisturizer and lasts a long time.

As others have said, any moisturizer will work. I use Eucerin sometimes, or even just straight lanolin. Nivea is my usual travel balm, and it tends to do decently, in most cases, but I would not use t for severe dry skin. YMMV of course.

I use Mitchell's Wool Fat hand and body lotion. Its cheap ($13.50 from Lee's Razors) and keeps my skin soft and moist the whole day. Works better than any aftershave balm I've tried before.

I've been pleased with the moisturizing ability of my Proraso Liquid Cream After Shave. Quality stuff!
