Thanked: 3Petroleum jelly
As an experiment after I finished shaving with my straight razor, cold water rinse, aftershave balm, lotion, patting dry i took a Tiny dab of petroleum jelly and rubbed that on my face. Let me say that my face feels good. It's great for nicks/cuts and puts a protective coating on your skin. Have any of you tried this?

Yes, it does.
but for guys like me with oily skin, it clogs pores, collects dirt from the air easily; definitely not for me.

Thanked: 12I'm with Hirlau. I like the Nivea lotion for sensitive skin -- unscented. Works great, no greasy feeling, doesn't cover up the great smell of Speick shaving soap.

Thanked: 44I dab a tiny bit of petroleum jelly on my palm, rub my hands together a little under cold water, and massage onto my face. Cold water is refreshing and helps spread the jelly more easily. Not the best for folks with very oily skin as noted above, but for many of us it's a great moisturizer.

It would work, but why would you want to it doesn't have a very pleasant smell it's extremely greasy, buy yourself some top quality shaving balm, or some raw organic Shea butter.
