I've used unscented Nivea Aftershave Balm before aftershave splash, but never the other way around. I only do this at times when my skin is very dry or irritated.

I do it the same way I found that I can get both on pretty quickly this way. If I do it the other way I have wait completely for the balm/ lotion to dry completely which adds a lot of time to the morning.

eShave has an after shave lotion that is nice, love the lime scent too.

I mix it up. My typical is alum, then cold rinse, then AS balm, proraso, or nivea or AOS or my favorite right now is raw coco butter.

Is there a lingering scent? So far shes not a fan of Captains choice, DR Harris sandalwood, and Musgo Real. I'd like an option that blows off quickly.
    OCDShaver,

Have you tried Speick AS Splash? It is really light and the scent doesn't linger.

    This works for me.

    Cold water rinse
    Alum
    Clean Up Gear
    Cold water rinse
    Witch Hazel
    Strop Razor
AS on face, Balm on neck

Don't think I need all of it, just like doing it.

Some folks like using a Balm than an AS for the smell.

I stopped using anything after a shave besides alum now since they all seem to make my burn worse

    Have fun.

Has anyone with sensitive skin, prone to razor burn, tried the proraso sensitive skin aftershave (white bottle)? I've been using the green proraso and I really enjoy it but I think I need something a little more soothing.

One of the balms I use is the Proraso. It is one of the most effective I have. I highly recommend it.

I go from thin to thick:

    AS splash
    Balm
    Lotion
