Thanked: 10A classic and effective Post Shave Treatment
Yes, Im sure many of you have tried this, but Im posting this for those who didnt know about it. Its the classic Nivea cream. Its an excellent post shave treatment, it kills razor burn and moisturizes the skin really fast. The only thing is that it is greasy if you apply too much, Whan I do is to apply a tiny amount on the places where the razor burn is and after that I apply an aftershave splash. It works wonders.

Works great as a pre-shave as well. Nearly the same thing as Prorasso pre/post cream.

Thanked: 375I bought this to use on my hands, during the winter months. I've tried Badger balm, O'keefes working hands, and then finally found Nivea Creme. I can't stand anything that you apply to your skin that feels as though it's greasy and doesn't absorb. Nivea creme soaks in very quickly and moisturizes very well. I wish it was unscented, it's not a foul smell just not exactly manly. Never thought to use it as a Pre or post shave treatment, might have to give it a go. I usually use Noxzema.

You are quite right - this is a great one after shaving. My grand father was a DE shaver. He would finish with an aftershave splash and then with this cream. Even to this day my grand mother mentions how his face was "super soft" because of the Nivea.
Personally, I use it as a moisturiser for morning and night but I am slowly starting to use it after shaving - either right after I apply my balm or at night (before bed time) following a morning shave that same day. I am slowly switching my moisturisers to the Dermalogica brand owing to very dry skin problems.

I tried it after my last shave and was really impressed!! I've tried other face lotions and some sting a little bit but, not this! I bought the small container for 99 cents. I will say that you don't need a lot either. I just put a little bit on my finger tips and apply it to my face.. Thank you for great tip!!!!

Thanked: 0I'm glad to see others who know this lotion as a great aftershave soothing application. I look forward to using for pre-shave application. I never even thought of this.
I find that the harder I rub it into the skin on my face the better the results. I think the stretching of the skin by being kind of rough with its application really gets the blood flowing too.
I love how our aftershave scents linger in people's memory. My ex from ten years ago that I saw recently said she had flashbacks after we hugged. Scent leaves a strong memory.
