The longest that my skin feels tender after a not-so-good shave (perhaps dulling razor) is about 3-4 hours. When I use a sharp razor or a single-edge safety with a new blade, my skin feels refreshed and good for the whole day. When my skin feels a bit raw, I use alum, then rinse it out really well with plenty of cold water, and lastly apply hydrating cream after the aftershave.
This made my skin feel good even after the occasional razor burn I got when I was a beginner.

In the winter, my face is more sensitive. I get real bad dry skin so, I use a moisturizer after shaving and it seems to help. Now, the warmer months I have no problems.

Thanked: 177all of the above. I use raw coco butter, I just pass it over the face slowly as it is hard until your face warmth starts to soften it. like a roll on. it works great for me.
