A coworker told me this last year. I thought about it and found it reasonable, considering the wide range in EVOO prices here in the US.
I also read some online recipes from soap makers who use oilive oil and found that some recommend using the cheapest oil because of it's "impurities."You can take the boy out of NY, but you can't take NY out of the boy.

Thanked: 0pre shave
All you need is pure virgin olive oil, nothing else. There is no reason to spend money when you don't have to.

I use to use pre-shave oils, but as i got better at face lathering and my straight razor technique improved, i found them a waste of time. Also when mixing oils, whether it is for a pre-shave oil or in soap making, certain oils should be kept at certain percentages in the mix. If not mixed in the proper way, the use of certain oils over time can cause skin irritation. This is one of the reasons pre-shave oils can be expensive, the right oils are being mixed in the proper percentages to complement each other. They don't just slap any oils together and then hope for the best.

A man should only look in the mirror when he shaves.
