    Default Getting into HOT water!

A couple of weeks ago my water heater had some trouble (turned out to be a bad switch). So we went a couple of days without hot water. I had to use a hot water pot to heat for bath and shaving. The water got to boiling and I didn't let it cool too much before washing and shaving with it. I couldn't believe how much smoother my shave was! The lather was better, no razor burn, and just a great shave altogether.

Now I have gotten lazy with my preshave and simply used soap, hot tap water (which is not over hot...not sure of actual temp), and then on the the shave (brush and puck). I haven't even used my cup lately preferring to face-build.

But now I think I will go back to a super-hot water pre-shave!

I have heard that super hot water would make some soaps not work as well that's why I never put in the insta- hot- water tap in the bath sink?! Ha really glad to hear this from you maybe I should try the tea-pot test first to see if it works for me. Thanks!

Well, it wasn't like the water was still boiling or anything. Just a lot hotter than I was used to. And the soap lathered really well...it was col. Conk's Almond shave soap.

That's because you are from the grim north, where hot water is a luxury .
I used to shave with really hot water and I found the exact opposite to the OP. But there you go, it also may have contributed to 2 cheap brushes falling apart
Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast
