Thanked: 15Pre shave oil clean up?
I like my pre-shave oil just as much as the next guy, but I can not stand the mess it makes in my sink. Everyting sticks to the side of my sink and is a pain to get off. Anyone have any fies for this?

Admittedly, the shave oil I use on my face comes out of a bottle and has to be squeezed with a good amount of pressure to make the bottle exude drops of oil, a drop at a time.
So, out of interest, what pre-shave oil do you use and what is you method.
Interested...

Thanked: 15AOS sandle wood, I pour out about a cap full onto my hand and apply it to my face. I did not think it was my oil making everyhting stick to my sink until I skiped using it today, then bam 60% less of everything stuck on my sink and not nearly as hard to clean off.

Please forgive me for asking, but can you describe you entire shave prep? It may help... mixtures of things and such...
btw-I use a cheapie shave oil from walmart and it is not like splashing aftershave on to my face. Not at all. but that's my shave oil.
ps-Soap dilutes oil, in general. Are you shaving without a soap lather? No judging, I will dry shave on occasion..., but saying the soap washes things nice and clean.Last edited by Siguy; 01-15-2014 at 03:26 AM.

Thanked: 15prep: after a shower soak my brush, apply oil to face, use either AOS, or Bigalow, cream or some VDH soap, just whatever strikes me that day(been on the cream kick lately), and that is realy it. I more or less rub the oil in, as if I was suing a face wash or someting along that line.

Thanked: 8Been using AoS as well. i only use a few drops, no where near a capfull. havent noticed any build up on the sink, however the last 2 days have noticed some on my blade. as i shave it is like the lather is getting sticky. came to pre-shave to find an answer on that when i saw this. might be related.
Could it be cold weather making the preshave oil thick?

Thanked: 1263The issue may be that you're using a capful…with most pre shave oils you literally only need a few drops to do your entire beard area. Sometimes less is more.
