I do know what I like, I figured that out several years ago (just because I am new here doesn't mean I am new to shaving), I just was trying a new product and it wasnt working well for me. As you say experimenting is part of the fun. But it is funny that you mention using it post shave, I actually just tried that This morning for giggles and it felt wonderfull during use, and only the slightest hint of irritation I think you might be on to something there, ill be doing further experimentation in that direction. Thanks

No. Mostly because no, and also because silvertips can be done many different ways. I have a lower loft TGN grade A knot that is just as soft as my boar (boar hairs will split and soften with use), with just as much backbone.
My first no was just because I don't believe these are factors that matter. A brush is a brush, everything else about them is personal preference. They all do the same job, even a "bad" brush (although it's of course easier with a "good" brush).

In regards to the Proraso pre/post cream, I have the white that was one my first purchases. Back then, I used it quite frequently, however, I have not used it in a very long time.
Like most who have used this, I have found that, over time, a good lather, from a quality soap or cream, applied on a properly wet face works just fine.

I think a boar brush has a stiffer back bone and gives a good but gentle facial scrub / massage when face lathering. Don't get me wrong I love the soft feel of my silvertip but for after work clean up or when your feeling greasy, the combination of Boar and Arko gives a really fresh feeling thats hard to beat.

IMO you can get the same exact thing from a silvertip and any quality soap...even MWF har har

Backbone of a silvertip is dependent on knot density and loft.

Boar brushes are much stiffer generally. Arko is applied directly to face then lathered with a wet brush. So far I have not found the same feeling with any combination of silvertip and soap. MWF is crap in a dish…lol

Try to use a small amount NOT after the shave. If u have an irritation it's the cream, if u have not maybe it's something else...(pressure,dull blade,etc...)

While you're correct on the boar front...arko also comes in a bowl

I would have to say that your statement regarding MWF is untrue...yes, different people react differently to, and can prefer certain soaps, but MWF is definitely not a crap soap my good sir. Some people absolutely hate Arko....personally, I love both

Same with boar and badger, I love both of them! Now synthetic brushes...those I truly hate!
